Tokyo Hotel

  • Dear FT experts,

My family and I are heading to Tokyo after the New year (1/3-1/6), and are in the midst of finding a decent hotel.

Criteria -- clean, comfortable and central location Three stars or above...

    Any recommendations will be appreciated!

    Thanks,
    Carfield

    I'll say, good job.

  • Carfield, I was checking hotels in Tokyo recently and found a Clarion hotel near Ikebukoro for approx $100 per night. You can check rates on-line with choice hotels (Clarion, Comfort Inn, etc.) and search in Japan. For a room in Tokyo with a King bed, this I thought was a pretty good deal.

  • Hello Carfield,

Suggestions might be easier if you specified a price range, and perhaps the acceptable rooming combinations (e.g. 2+2, 2+2+1, 2+3, etc.), as Tokyo hotels have varying policies for number of guests per room.

For instance, the Sheraton Yokohama has great rates on very nice singles, while up to 3 people can fit in some rooms at the Keio Plaza I-C.
I believe the Hilton, Century Hyatt, and I-C charge the same for single and double occupancy, while most others cost extra for two.
