Aeroplan Points from Air China Flights?

  • Hi All,
I flew three times this past spring with Air China and gave them my Aeroplan (AE Elite, *G) number each time. Nothing has been posted yet however points from my flights on Thai were posted faithfully and quickly. Has anyone any experience or insight?
    Cheers

  • Mine were posted very quickly as well; maybe a few days later.

  • My Air China flights also posted very quickly. Any chance the name didn't match your Aeroplan card?

  • Thanks. I guess I'll have to send in the BPs and tickets. Do I send them to Aeroplan in Vancouver?
    Cheers

    Yup - here's the address:

    Aeroplan Centre
    P.O. Box 7737
    Station Terminal
    Vancouver, BC
    Canada V6B 5W9

Remember to include your name, address, telephone number(s), and Aeroplan number, a legible copy of your ticket or your e-ticket receipt, and your original boarding passes. From the date your request is received, please allow up to four to six weeks for mileage to be posted in your account.

**The new flight validation process for missing flight credits has been introduced in conjunction with the Star Alliance member airlines. As of 2008, all Star Alliance airline partners will apply the new validation process that requires the operating airline to review and approve all requests for missing flight credits.

  • My wife flew them in Feb, shortly after they joined Star.
When she checked in ( at a smaller airport) for a domestic flight connecting
to an AC flight, she was told they could not input the number.

We had to send in the BP and ticket for credit, which took about a month.

  • I flew with Air China in June 2007, miles posted in January 2008 to my LH M&M account :D

  • I think it might to do with your name. If you have a more than two names on your passport then when you book your ticket with Air China, the person who booked you on the flight might mixed up with your names in the booking, therefore when you checked in for your flight, the BP doesn't show your card number or your status. My friend had the same problem and he is with NZ, both Shanghai airline and Air China's BP didn't didn't show his NZ status and card number. Luckly I have only got two names, which made a bit easier for me.

I was on a domestic flight with Air China from XIY - PEK on the 12 June in F class, the BP showed my card number and my status. However, I still haven't see my points yet, I guess it would take a little while, unless last few times it credited to my account rather fast.

Anyway, good luck to those missing points.

p.s. you don't have to send all your BPs and tickets to Aeroplan, instead you can email them a copy of your BPs and tickets, which is faster and won't get lost in the mail.

  • My Air China flights posted a few days after the flights.
