Or have I been brainwashed into thinking $134 is cheap hee, hee.....
BTW - I was still able to chose from a few days around Xmas at the classical level and saw J availabilty as well at the classical level.
I was lucky to have my First Class points ticket reduced from 100,000 to 60,000 due to one segment "disappearing" from the original booking last March for our May trip to Europe .
This one segment was rebooked in Economy with all other First Class segments remaining in tact and I was given 40,000 points back as compensation (x2 as there were two of us).
A few weeks later First Class opened up again and we got our seats back but did not have to repay the earlier refunded points. The fare was a shade over $15,000/60,000 points = 25 cents a point.
Needless to say I was one happy camper hee, hee!
I also expected the surcharge to be more.
Anyway, for those of us with access to castrated IKK, this yields a mile value of just a tad above 3 cents/mile, which is roughly what I evaluate my miles to be worth.
When booking reward, I would like to look at alternative *A options and do not want to call the reward centre every time.

If there'd have been a cross border sector you'd have to add another $40 in US government imposed fees. This is why the fees and surcharges on transborder shorthauls now are generally higher than the actual fare component, even in TANGO+!
